Food: In Brazil, the cuisine can vary greatly by the region. The main ingredients people rely on are black beans, rice, and cassava. Usually the different dishes have African origins. Some of the famous dishes are Vatapa which combines fish, shrimp, peanuts, and palm oil mashed into creamy pasta. Churrasco includes various cuts of meat and is a traditional meal in Rio Grande do Sul. Pato no tucupi is a duck soup with wild herbs from the Amazon region.
Race/ethnicities: There were four main indigenous language families in Brazil at the time of discovery: Tupi, Ge, Carib and Arawak. The population was Portuguese because they colonized the country.
